Abstract: | This project aims to assess urban areas in Al-Ain for stormwater drain risks through GIS and additional analytical methodologies. It focuses on mapping risk zones, evaluating existing drainage systems, and identifying areas vulnerable to flooding. By integrating spatial data analysis and field observations, the study seeks to propose actionable strategies for urban planning and infrastructure enhancement to mitigate flood risks. The anticipated outcome includes a comprehensive risk assessment report that will serve as a guideline for sustainable urban development and effective
stormwater management in Al-Ain, contributing significantly to the city's resilience against flooding. By identifying vulnerable areas and enhancing stormwater management, the study supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, specifically targeting the goal to "make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. |
